Welcome to Journey to Belonging
Empathy. Understanding. Connection.
Migration affects millions of people, and finding a sense of belonging can often feel uncertain, lonely, and overwhelming. Imagine if we could experience life from their perspective and see the world as they do.
Journey to Belonging offers more than a typical workshop. It gives you a chance to experience what life is like for immigrants, refugees, and asylees. With hands-on activities, personal stories, and time for reflection, you will better understand the challenges people face when they leave everything behind to start over in a new place.
Journey to Belonging: Empathy and Understanding for Immigrants is designed for anyone who wants to learn more about immigration and the experiences of people coming to the United States for safety, opportunity, and a fresh start. It is not a training for immigrants themselves.

Why it Matters
Immigrants are our neighbors, coworkers, and friends. Still, the challenges they face often go unnoticed. Many live with fear, search for safety, and long to belong- stories we rarely hear. Taking part in this experience will help you build empathy and connect more deeply with immigrant and refugee communities.

What to Expect
- Interactive Simulations: Walk through real-life scenarios faced by those starting over in a new country.
- Powerful Storytelling: Listen to stories that bring the immigrant experience to life.
- Reflective Dialogue: Engage in discussions that challenge perceptions and build understanding.
This 3-hour journey is designed to leave you with a lasting impression, one that will inspire you to take action, open your heart, and build a community where everyone belongs.

"Journey to Belonging gives a deeper understanding of immigrants and clears up misconceptions. It wonderfully delves into the differences of immigrants and unnervingly puts participants in the shoes of a daunting, disorienting, and inhumane process."
